  1. Pie maker to create 80 new jobs after securing financing package

    A Bristol-based pie manufacturer will create up to 80 new jobs as it plans to open five new restaurants after securing a £1.4m finance package from HSBC, a recent news report has been able to suggest.

    Pieminister will use the funding package to open and fit-out the new sites as part of the company’s strategy of targeting university cities in the UK, but also for refinancing existing sites in Manchester and Trentham in the Midlands, bringing the company’s portfolio of restaurants and cafes to 16.

The five new stores, which wouldn’t have been possible without this latest round of funding from the bank, will underpin the next stage of our growth plans and will help to increase our turnover by around £4.5m a year.

  3. Plans put forward for £180m redevelopment of derelict area in Bristol

    A developer has submitted an application for a mixed-use scheme at Redcliff Quarter in Bristol which could contribute 400-500 jobs and an estimated £7m per annum into the local economy once completed, a news report in the local business media has been able to find.

  4. Major discount retailer to build new 600,000 sq ft distribution centre in Bristol

    One of the UK’s (and Europe’s) best-known discount retailers has revealed plans to open a new 600,000 sq ft distribution centre in Bristol, replacing its existing site in Weston-Super-Mare, a news report in the local business media has found.

    Low-cost retailer Lidl has acquired the 33-acre site on Central Park in Avonmouth from Delta Properties for a new regional distribution centre (RDC).

    It is the fourth new distribution centre announced in the past 12 months and follows the recent submission of a planning application for a 500,000 facility near Exeter.

    Plans to build a new trampoline park in Bristol have been approved by the local authority, a news report in the local business media has found.

  7. New retail park in Newquay set to receive planning permission

  9. Retailer to create 250 new jobs across the South West

    One of the UK’s best-know retailers has revealed plans to invest £8m in new stores across the South West that could create up to 250 jobs, a news report has found.
