  2. Jobs saved as vehicle parts distributor branches get snapped up by rival

  4. Work starts on regeneration of Dartington area in Devon

  5. Brewer creates 40 new jobs in Exeter

    A brewer has started recruiting new staff for its future pub restaurant venture set to be located on Exeter’s quayside.

    St Austell Brewery plans to invest £1.5m to transform a Victorian warehouse on Commercial Road and will create 40 jobs in the process, a news report in the local media was able to reveal.   6. Company to create 1,000 new jobs in Keynsham

  7. Office take-up in Bristol city centre reaches 7-year high

    Transactions involving office space in the Bristol city centre have reached and impressive 180,000 sq ft over the three months to the end of June, figures obtained from a study published by DTZ were able to reveal.

    Research said that transactions so far in 2014 have been driven by the finance, legal and professional services sectors.

    Andy Heath, director of office agency at DTZ in Bristol, said: "The steady improvement in trading conditions continues with the highest level of quarterly take-up in the city centre since Q2 2008.

    "What was also encouraging was the number of deals (40 against the five-year average of 24) which was the highest number since Q4 2007. However, this new found encouragement needs to be tempered by the lack of grade A activity, which does not look like changing hugely over the next two quarters."

  8. Up to 500 new jobs could be created across the South West following successful funding round

    A total of 26 developing companies across the South West have been awarded £2.8m via the GAIN Growth Fund, potentially creating close to 500 jobs and also unlocking £13.5m in private sector investment.

  9. Local electronics manufacturer starts apprenticeship program
